Our Children, Our Community, Our Voice, Our Power - Why Black Parents Matter

This engaging, interactive panel/community discussion will examine the historical and current barriers created to limit the involvement and engagement of Black families in their children’s education experience. Panelists will share the benefits of creating community spaces specific to different sub-communities to share knowledge, resources, voice, and power. Participants will also learn from success stories of true partnership and the importance of centering Black families in authentic partnership to undo the systemic racism and inequities in the education system.
