Building a Bridge between the Activist and the Advocate

How can grassroots organizers, youth, and parent activists build stronger relationships with power-holders and decision-makers? We have a shared vision, that all students deserve to dream big, pursue their goals, and eventually earn a living that supports a quality life. Yet there’s often a gap in how we create a path to get there. There is the reality that families and young people are living and the rules and regulations that determine what “educational success” is. This session is designed to give participants tactics and strategies to bridge the gap between those working within the system and those impacted by the system so that we can achieve our greater goal of student success.
