Policy and Government Affairs Manager
Virginia Barry | Virginia Barry serves as Stand’s Policy and Government Affairs Manager. A native Texan, her passion for social and economic justice coalesced while volunteering for youth-serving organizations in the U.S. and abroad. She began her career in fundraising: first as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a mentoring program and later for Jumpstart. During graduate school she turned her love for wonky details into policy and programmatic work, conducting research on early childhood education and post-secondary policy. Before joining Stand, she worked at New Leaders, where she managed data collection tools to improve programs. Virginia graduated from Colby College and has a Master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Seattle with her husband, Michael, daughter, Grace, and their dog, Huck. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sharing meals with family and friends, and exploring new places.
